That sounds incredibly frustrating. Whether it’s physically noisy roommates, a busy household, or just the metaphorical “everyone” (social media, work emails, or the weight of expectations) keeping your mind racing, losing out on sleep is the worst.
It’s hard to be your best self when you’re running on empty. To give you the best advice, I need to know: was it the literal noise keeping you up, or the mental “noise” of dealing with people?
In the meantime, here are a few ways to reclaim your peace:
If it’s Literal Noise (People being loud)
White Noise: If you don’t have a machine, a fan or a “Brown Noise” playlist on Spotify/YouTube can drown out voices better than silence.
The “Earplug + Mask” Combo: Physical barriers send a signal to your brain (and others) that you are officially “off-grid.”
The Gentle Confrontation: If this is a recurring issue, it might be time for a “house meeting” when you’re not already exhausted and cranky.
If it’s Mental Noise (Stress about others)
The Brain Dump: Get a piece of paper and write down every person or “thing” bothering you. Once it’s on paper, your brain feels less responsible for “holding” it while you sleep.

Phone Lockdown: If “everyone” is inside your phone (apps, texts, news), put it in another room. The world can wait six hours for your reply.
Box Breathing: Breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. It forces your nervous system to quit the “fight or flight” mode that social stress triggers.
